Dress II

Product Code: GUT1476

“Fashion through the ages shows the metamorphosis of this enigmatic gadget peculiar to women. Full skirts–hidden delights. The dress is a gadget of influence which was only denounced in the sixties when women took it upon themselves to wear the men’s uniform and nothing has ever been the same again.” One of a series of “Dresses” which invoke the touch of a visionary couturier. As it hangs against the wall–a strapless ballgown awaiting its occupying body–Dress II embodies a paradox: The “empty” bustier is made of solid wood. It is an impossible object shifting magically back and forth between reality and idea.
